Everyone deserves the opportunity to feel “pretty” and be surrounded with one-of-a-kind art without breaking the bank. Our philosophy is to create unique, one-of-a-kind wearable art and home decor that is within a reasonable budget.
For our jewelry, we use primarily artistic wire (copper core with a covering of aluminum, brass, stainless steel, or other base metal. All of our jewelry is nickel-free to the best of our knowledge, however if metal allergies are an issue, please contact us for alternatives. By using artistic wire, we are able to offer our art at a cost we hope will fit your budget. Our creations are made from handmade lampwork and copper enamel beads, stained glass pieces, and a variety of primarily glass beads and pendants.
Other items are created from wet felted wool roving in a variety of beautiful colors. This process is ancient and was once used to make tents on the Silk Road. Today it is used for a variety of wearable art and home decor. Our crossbody bags come with a handmade Kumihimo strap.
We also offer blank cards with a variety of images from the original artwork of Karol D. Good. Karol was an artist from an early age. She started her professional career as an Occupational Therapist with the Veterans Administration following the end of World War II. She worked for a time at Wadsworth VA Hospital, now Eisenhower Veterans Medical Center, in Leavenworth, KS. She moved to the Kansas City VA hospital and established the Occupational Therapy department there. After a few years of raising children, she returned to college and earned a master’s degree in art. She then took a position as an Art Instructor at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, KS, where she developed the Art Department there. She has been active in community arts projects in Chanute for many years, including being on the first board of directors for The Chanute Art Gallery. She started making jewelry using glass beads she made herself. Karol created lampwork beads in her glass studio in the basement of our house. She also created copper enameled beads and members of the family often demonstrated this technique at vendor shows across eastern Kansas.
The wool roving pieces created through needle felting and wet felting and much of the jewelry has been created by Diane L. Good. She has enjoyed creative art projects for most of her life. She has a master of arts degree in anthropology and a master of library science and has taught anthropology and sociology in a number of colleges and universities in Kansas. Her professional career was at the Kansas Historical Society in Topeka, KS, first as an archeologist and later as an educator. Once retired, Diane can devote her time to creating wearable art and home decor.
Our designs are created through years of experience with color, shape, and form. Anyone can string beads. We prefer our jewelry to be “on the edge.” We take the design to the edge, and then go a step or two into “edgy” or even Bohemian.
